“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,” Luke 18:1 (NKJV)
When Jesus shared with the disciples the parable of the persistent widow, He started off by urging them that men ought to always pray, and to not lose heart. Other translations say that men should not faint, not give up, but to pray at all times.
It doesn’t say that they should pray sometimes, but at all times. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says that we should “Pray without ceasing.” A praying Christian is an effective Christian!
As you begin to pray about all things, you are putting yourself in consistent communication with God about your life, your future, and your current circumstances.
When you pray in the Spirit, you take that a step further, where you’re tapping into the mysteries of God concerning your life — and praying those things into existence!
This is when you enter a realm of divine direction for your life. Not only does the Holy Spirit bring to mind how you should respond when you face difficult circumstances, but He also begins to open your eyes to things that lie ahead.
Today, even as you read this devotional, may your hunger for prayer and fellowship with God increase like never before. As you do — I decree that you shall become effective in your workplace, in your finances, and in every area of your life, in Jesus Name!
Prophetic Declaration
As I begin to pray more consistently than ever before, may my spiritual senses be sharpened and inclined to His leading and guiding. I shall be labelled as an effective Christian, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
