Ordained as a prophet before birth, discovered at the mere age of 17. This was the moment when Leon du Preez got saved and delivered through an encounter with Jesus Christ. Leon du Preez became a living example of the supernatural power of God that was imparted to him during this encounter.
As the founder of Encounter Church, one of the fast-growing churches in South Africa, Leon’s ministry has become a household name within the Body of Christ.
Encounter Church has been established and planted in Centurion, Krugersdorp, Cape Town, Ballito, Somerset West, and Worcester in South Africa, as well as establishing a strong international presence with the Encounter Online Church.
Encounter Global Network, which he presides over, provides spiritual covering to numerous churches and ministries worldwide, fostering church growth, governance, and the nurturing of spiritual gifts.
Leon’s mantle and role as a Prophet within the Body of Christ have been recognized as a divine gift and endorsed by Senior Leaders, Ministers, and Prophets. His God-given mandate is reaching millions across the globe, as he imparts a prophetic mantle to this generation.
Leon is also the founder of the Prophetic Institute, an initiative that trains and equips believers in the prophetic, empowering them to walk in their divine calling.
Leon’s multi-faceted ministry and internationally recognized conferences attract large crowds from every province within South Africa and frequently welcome international visitors. Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Leaders, and business professionals travel from afar, both nationally and internationally, to receive impartation, equipping, covering, and direction from the Prophet.
He is the author of more than 10 books, with significant demand for his teachings on prophecy. Leon is also the founder and president of “The Prophetic Institute,” which trains, equips, and imparts prophetic knowledge to believers, empowering them to fulfill their divine callings.
Beyond his ministry, Leon has been granted favor and influence in the political sphere, overseeing broad social development strategies. One of these is the Second Chance Project, which ministers to over 30 schools weekly, bringing empowerment, healing, and deliverance to thousands of young learners.
Leon’s greatest joy is his family. He is married to his beautiful wife, Este-Lee du Preez, with whom he shares a deep partnership in life and ministry. Together, they are raising their two daughters, Scarlet Grace and Bethany Angel, who are the light of their lives. Este-Lee stands beside Leon, contributing to their ministry’s growth and nurturing the community they serve.
One of the other wings of his ministry, Encounter Hope, is driven by the mission to bring hope to those in need, being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to the community. This is the philanthropy work of Leon & Este-Lee du Preez towards society. This initiative currently reaches out to orphanages, rehabilitation centers, old age homes, and in the process of sponsoring bursaries to students who are unable.
